Today I will discuss some basics about the SEO of your WordPress site.
First things first let me clear about the term SEO.
So, what is SEO?
The elaboration of SEO is Search Engine Optimization. That means optimize your site according to the algorithm of search engine.
According to Wikipedia
“Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of growing the quality and quantity of website traffic by increasing the visibility of a website or a web page to users of a web search engine.”
In this and for the next part of this blog on SEO I will focus on Google as it is the most and widely used search engine on the globe.
Classification of SEO
SEO are of two types
- On-page SEO
- Off-page SEO
On-page SEO means optimizing every single web page in order to rank higher in search engines and earn more relevant traffic to grow your business or services whatever your site is about. On-page refers to the content and HTML source code optimization.
Off-Page SEO means all the activities that you and others do without touching your website to increase the ranking of a page on search engines.
As the target of writing this blog is WordPress, I will only focus on On-page SEO. If you want to know about off-page SEO I will cover this on upcoming article.
